8x8 - Add a Conference Call to Your Outlook Meeting
Summary
You can schedule a conference call using your 8x8 account from within the Outlook Calendar item. Please note that every 8x8 conference call can be a video conference, audio call only, and/or a screen-sharing presentation. Anyone joining the meeting from their computer will have all these options available.
Instructions
Create a Conference Call Meeting Using the 8x8 Virtual Office Outlook Plugin
- Create a new Meeting in Outlook.
- In the new meeting windows, configure your standard meeting details – dates, times, invitees, etc.
- Once your meeting is set up and ready to send, click the Add 8x8 Meeting button. (If you do not see this button - example below - you may not have the 8x8 Work for Outlook Plugin installed. Click here to find out how to install this plugin.)
- Details will be inserted into the body of the meeting invitation
- A link to join the meeting will open the 8x8 Desktop App if you have it installed. For guests that are not part of our organization that do not use 8x8, a browser-based app will open to allow them to connect video, audio, etc.
- If guests want to join by phone call only, a phone number with conference code is available in a tap to call format. This alleviates the need for them to type in the conference code manually.
- By inserting an 8x8 Work Meeting into an Outlook Meeting in this way, you can also now find the meeting in your 8x8 Desktop or Mobile app in the Meetings tab and join or start the meeting from there.
