How to find your IP address from your computer
Summary
Please follow the instructions below to obtain an IP address from your computer. Your IT department may request it because the information on their side may have changed.
Instructions
1. Navigate to the Search field on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen and type CMD and press ENTER. If you don't have a Search field, click on the Windows logo and type CMD.
2. A command prompt will open. Type the command ipconfig and press Enter.
3. Look for the IPv4 address when the information populates the window. It will normally be under Ethernet adapter or Wireless LAN adapter depending on how you are connected. If you are connected by a network cable, look for Ethernet adapter, if you're connected by WiFi, look for Wireless LAN adapter.
