Chromebook will not turn on

Summary

If your Samsung Chromebook isn't responding because it won't turn on and it's just a black screen, you can try the instructions below.

You may notice the blue light on the left side of the Chromebook to indicate it has battery power. If not, make sure you charge the Chromebook.

1. Check the screen brightness on the top row of keys of the keyboard. It's above the 8 and 9 key. Tap the key above the 9 key several times.

2. Press and hold the power button in the upper right corner of the Chromebook for 10 seconds. The blue light on the left side should turn off.

Close the Chromebook lid for about three seconds, then open it. Give it a few seconds, and it should boot.
